Ford Transit Custom MK2 2024-
Thermal Blinds
Let’s face it, no matter if you’re
travelling to warmer abroad to warmer climate, or
staying around the United Kingdom, you’re going to face
changeable and potentially less than comfortable
weather conditions. The first moment getting back into
a vehicle when the sun is beating can be sickly or
sleeping in your camper and finding the temperatures
have dropped overnight, it’s not ideal.
Whilst
you might take precautionary steps to insulate the body
of the van, filling nooks and crannies and large
bodywork panels, as campervans are essentially glazed
all the way round, it’s important to note that windows
have been known to be inefficient at insulating your
living and sleeping area when trying to keep your van
protected from both hot and cold temperatures. There’s
an easy answer, tailored thermal blinds!
By
creating an insulating layer between your windows and
the space inside the van, you can help stop the extreme
temperatures transferring and increase the efficiency of
any air conditioning or heating you might have.
The thermal blinds from us here at Vanstyle, are
made up of a dual layer system, a heat reflective silver
lining which helps reflect heat out the van in the
summer and keeps heat in during colder weather. The
alternative side is a black liner material, which acts as a
backing side, but also helps to attract any heat possible
in winter. Sandwiched between these two layers is an air
system, stopping heat transfer from the cold windows,
ensuring that the heat in your van isn’t sapped by the
harsh conditions outside.
Installation is a
breeze, designed using tailored holes in the blind, you
can attach strong suction cups that quickly and easily
attach to the inside of your window, meaning that it
takes seconds to put up or take down these blinds,
great for those that want to pitch up and get their head
down. An easy-to-use design means that you won’t
need to modify your van to take these, they’re a direct
fit already.
We know that vans come in all
different layouts, which is why all our blind sets are
available separately, allowing fitment to all-out camper
conversions, but also covering those that might have
converted a panel van into a day van or touring vehicle.
You might not have rear windows fitted, but your front
cabin has lots of glazing, which our front window set will
tackle with ease, covering the large front windscreen
and both side front windows too.
FAQ:
Q:
Can I use thermal blinds whilst driving?
A: We’d
highly recommend that you don’t, we know that people
wouldn’t use front blinds whilst driving for obvious
reasons, but we’ll always say to give yourself as much
vision as possible, only use these blinds whilst parked
up.
Q: I have a long wheelbase Transit
Custom, do these blinds fit?
A: Most windows are
the same regardless of wheelbase length, but check the
product specifications just in-case, we know that the
rear quarter windows do differ! It’s also worth checking
to see if your van has a tailgate or twin rear door, and if
this effects the products you’re looking at.
