Volkswagen T6.1 Transporter 2019- Side
Styling
If you have a Transporter T6.1, you’ve
invested in (for now anyway) the latest generation of
Volkswagen’s iconic commercial vehicle. It’s a great
looking van that you’re proud of but, wouldn’t it be
fabulous to make it stand out from the crowd? Vanstyle
offers a large range of high quality sidebars and running
boards which are certain to enhance the appearance of
your investment, protect it from damage and make it
more attractive to a second owner when you finally sell
it on…
The addition of sidebars or running
boards (steps) are one of the most effective ways of
making your van stand out from the crowd. These don’t
need to be too dramatic in style, take the 60mm
straight cut bars from Vanstyle for example. Fitting
directly across the side sill they enhance the profile of
the vehicle without being too bold and are available in
powder coated gloss black or polished chrome. The bars
are provided with a fitting kit allowing for an easy DIY
application at home.
If you fancy something a
little more substantial, Vanstyle offers the 76mm slash
cut 4 step side bar. Available in gloss black or polished
chrome, they’re significantly wider than the 60mm
straight cut product, and are provided with two steps
per side, providing easier access for the driver and
passenger without the risk of scratches and scuffs to
unprotected metal. These sidebars give a chunky, solid
impression, really enhancing the appearance of the T6.1
and, once again can be fitted at home using the fitting
kit supplied.
What can a full side step offer?
1) much easier access into the vehicle, especially
valuable for Caravelle or camper van owners when
people are likely to regularly enter and exit using the
side doors, but also something that van drivers,
especially those doing multi-drop work will appreciate.
2) Protecting the sills of the vehicle from expensive
damage – it being a much cheaper option to replace the
side step, and 3) they make the vehicle look so much
better!
Vanstyle offer a number of side steps
– for example the Thoresby style aluminium step.
Aluminium means it’s light, having a minimal effect on
the payload you can carry, and the board has a tread
design making it slip-resistant for those using it to enter
or exit the vehicle. These are priced very reasonably,
and the fact that they are an easy fit at home means
that you can avoid any additional labour costs.
FAQ:
Q: My T6.1 is a long wheelbase one. Will the sidebars
fit?
A: There’s a LWB version for most of the
products – check the product page and select ‘LWB’
from the dropdown menu.
Q: What does
‘slash cut’ mean?
A: It refers to the finish at the
end of the sidebar, slash cut meaning it has an angled,
diagonal end.
Q: Can I remove them to fit
onto a new van?
A: In most cases yes, although
some remedial work to the van where fittings have been
applied may be required.
Q: I’m not confident
that I can fit the product myself. Can you do it for me?
A: Yes, by prior arrangement at our
Nottinghamshire facility. Get in touch for more details.
