Ford Transit Custom 2018-2023 Front
Styling
The Ford Transit Custom is arguably one of
the favourites amongst campers and trades alike. With a
good load capacity and a not so bulky approach to
layout, it’s ideal for those that want versatility.
Unfortunately, unless you’re lucky enough to have the
cash for a high ticket MSRT model, they’re very much
styled like a van, but that’s where we can help.
With a wide range of accessories to spice up the
front end of your Transit Custom, your doesn’t have to
suffer with a bland face. Easy installation bonnet
protectors and front grilles easily get your van noticed,
and help stand out from the crowd. Whilst front grilles
are predominantly a styling feature, items like bonnet
protectors will help take the brunt from small road
debris, a sacrificial item for your expensive paintwork.
Usually bonnet protectors and deflectors are available in
various colours and finishes, helping to blend in with
your chosen style, and can often be painted should you
want to utilise them to cover up old stone chips and
scuffs.
Bonnet deflectors help protect more
than the bonnet edge, but can help redirect debris up
and over the windscreen, preventing chips and cracks
and prolonging the life of your screen. Most deflectors
are a no drill and no stick fitment, meaning you can
easily take off or replace without any modifications.
An ever popular choice for light modification
is a front bumper lip and splitter. Even if your van is
standard height, these accessories help give your van a
more sporty and lower look without needing to fork out
for expensive coilover kits, which isn’t always possible.
The main difference between a splitter and lower
bumper lip is that a splitter will usually attach directly
onto the bottom of the standard bumper, keeping the
profile the same with a sporty add on ‘plate’, whereas a
bumper lip often extends the standard bumper
downwards, giving a more continuous look. Splitters are
notorious for being easier to fit, and as they come
standard in a gloss black finish, you don’t need to paint
it, it’ll be ready to fit straight out of the box. As bumper
lips are designed to give a more subtle but sporty
factory look, they’ll need finished, primed and painted.
Sometimes getting the right look with a bumper
extension can be fiddly, so it’s worth considering which
is right for you.
Sun visors are an all time
classic when it comes to accessorising your van,
especially a Ford Transit. Attaching at both sides, with
an acrylic blade between the brackets to form the visor,
they’re an easy way of looking great and being
functional at the same time. Keep the sun from your
eyes without internal visors.
FAQ:
Q: Can I remove a bonnet protector after it has
been fitted?
A:They’re fitted using self adhesive
tape to get a low profile look, so whilst they might be
tricky to get off, they can be removed but may leave
some of the adhesive behind.
Q: What are
streamers?
A: They don’t go on the end of
handlebars in this case, but rather they’re usually
polished steel trims that emphasise areas, often on
grilles and mirrors
