TRANSIT CUSTOM MK2 2023-
ALLOY WHEELS & TYRES
Unless you’re splashing
out on a kitted out MSRT model, it’s likely that your new
Ford Transit Custom looks fine, but standard alloys just
won’t make the cut, especially with what’s on offer.
Here at Vanstyle, there’s lots of choice in
colour, offset and size to kit your van out exactly the
way you had planned. We do the hard work hand
picking the selection, working out the best fits, and
pairing them with the tyres that will keep your van shiny
side up. There’s lots to consider when deciding on where
to buy your new wheels and tyres, and lots of downfalls
to making the wrong decision, so use our expertise and
let us help you make the right choices.
All our
wheel choices are load rated for commercial use, which
means they’re designed to a higher load capacity,
absolutely essential for your van. The tyres we select to
compliment our wheels are chosen with vehicle loads in
mind, this is often overlooked when it comes to
converted campervans, where furniture and hardware
sneakily ramp up the weight of your vehicle, but we’ve
got you covered.
It’s real-world fitment that
matters, and as we try these wheels on Vanstyle’s own
Transit Custom, we know exactly how they’ll fit, giving
you the confidence to know you’ll be happy with your
new rims. Stocking brands such as Calibre and Momo,
we know that they all have slightly different offerings to
cater to everyone’s tastes, but we keep adding an
updating our range as more wheels are developed and
released. If there’s a style you’re after but you can’t see
it on our site, get in touch!
The traditional
sporty style used to comprise of a relatively normal size
wheel, chunky five spoke design, with normal tyres
wrapped around them. Those days are gone, upgrade
and change your look completely! Modern designs can
still have retro heritage themes, both other will use
delicate spokes and machined face to give a more
intricate look, showing off brake calipers instead of
hiding them away.
When we first fitted set of
alloys to our Transit Custom we looked at 18 inch
wheels, which as it pretty pampered vehicle, it doesn’t
need to hold lots of weight. Overnight we may have
accidentally treated it to some 20 inch wheels, which
looks and fit fantastic. Paired with a lowering spring kit,
they really fill out the arches, and give it a much
sportier look without catching or rubbing on arches.
18 inch wheels generally give a tyre choice
suited to carrying more weight, not to mention can work
out a fair bit cheaper. If you’re looking for a budget
friendly option, we’d definitely recommend 18 inch
wheels, keeping your weight carrying options open too.
FAQ:
Q: Do the MK1 Ford Transit Custom
wheels fit the newer model?
A: As everything on
this model of Transit Custom is brand new, they PCD
fitment is different, so you cannot fit old model wheels
on the new model.
Q: Will 20 inch wheels rub
on the arches of my Ford Transit Custom?
A: It’s all
a combination of suspension, component wear, and
wheel fitment. Generally speaking you shouldn’t
experience any issues, but as our van has an easy life,
and shows minimal signs of wear, it does not rub or
catch on the arches on full steering lock (even though
it’s lowered!)
