This genuine VW accessory is a very practical and high-quality accessory available for the T5 Transporter. The rack is designed to fit to the tailgate of 2003 - 2009 & 2010 - 2015 models in a very simple and innovative manner. The holder simply grips the edge of the tailgate in four places, making for a very sturdy fit, mounted on four rubber feet as to protect the paint.

With the ability to carry up to four adult sized bikes (max payload of 60kg), this genuine bicycle holder is the perfect accessory for when travelling with friends or family. Designed to work around you, the holder does not prohibit the opening of the tailgate, and allows the van to be used as normal when the bikes are removed from the rack. With a built in locking knob and keys, this accessory will keep your bikes safe when out and about.

This bike holder is made of a high quality anodised aluminium, and delivered pre-installed for a quick and easy installation.

Aftermarket Uprated 1130N Tailgate Gas Struts

These tailgate struts look and feel just like the ones fit to your van from the factory, but with 1130N of resistance, these make light work of lifting a tailgate when fitted with a bicycle rack.

Fitting is a very straight forward procedure and no special tools are required.

Supplied as a pair, these tailgate struts will completely replace your factory fit ones. However, you may want to hold on to your originals if you ever decide to remove the bicycle rack.

We advise against using these struts when your bicycle rack is not fitted as the increased resistance of the struts means the tailgate opens with significant force. This results in the tailgate being much harder to close over the standard units.

Please note -
This listing is for a Genuine VW T5/T5.1 4-Bike Rack and Aftermark Struts ONLY

If your van is not a California edition, you will need to upgrade your tailgate gas struts from the standard 900N/985N gas struts to the 1130N gas struts. This will allow the now heavier tailgate to open as normal with the weight of the bicycle holder. We do, however, advise that you hold on to the factory struts and re-install them when not using the bike holder. The 1130N struts will make the tailgate difficult to shut without the bike holder installed.*

How do they fit?
Easily - Rubber feet grip the body and make for a secure fit to tailgate models of van only.

30-40 minutes
