It has a light sensor to sense when it gets dark. The headlights will come on when you unlock your vehicle at night and when you lock the vehicle they will stay on and act as coming home lights.

*Will NOT fit 4Motion, BlueMotion, or Models with factory fitted Xenon*
Please make sure your van has the large plug connection: The easiest way to confirm what van model you own is to simply depress the switch and rotate slightly clockwise, finally pulling out carefully remove the unit.
