TRANSPORTER T7 2025 ONWARDS - LOWERING KITS

The new Transporter T7 boasts both front and rear spring and damper type suspension, a change from the previous generation, which featured rear leaf spring suspension. This offers more options if you're considering swapping to a lowering or performance- based suspension setup.

With more options comes more decisions, especially if you're using your van for work or a conversion. A key question is: “how low can you go?” The main consideration here is that, as more weight is added to the van, it will naturally sit lower. With a lowering spring kit installed, it will sit lower than the standard height—so, is this the right choice for your van and driving conditions?

It's fair to say that the T7 comes with quite a high stance as standard. So, we know that lowering springs are a popular choice for achieving a more balanced and sleek look. Even with an extreme lowering kit, the T7 will still maintain the desired handling and look you'd want.

When choosing suspension components, it's always a good idea to go with high-quality brands to ensure durability, performance, and safety. Cobra uses a specifically designed high tensile chromium silicone wire, guaranteeing excellent results every time. Their manufacturing process includes heat treatment and phosphate treatment, which significantly increases lifespan and corrosion resistance.

With Cobra’s range of options, including moderate and extreme lowering kits, you have a choice. For example, the first batch of lowering springs we tested reduced the front by 25mm and the rear by 50mm. While it might sound like a significant drop, it gave the T7 a far more aggressive stance, helping the wheels fill the arch gaps more effectively while maintaining overall comfort.

After seeing the results from the more modest lowering, we tested the extreme option—a 40mm drop in the front and 65mm in the rear. The results were striking, with the van sitting incredibly low, yet maintaining enough ride height to clear speed bumps and dropped curbs without issue. The extreme lowering springs complemented our 20-inch alloy wheels beautifully, giving the van an aggressive look without compromising comfort.
